Every classroom is equipped with a Lightspeed microphone system which includes a black docking station (or stand) that recharges the batteries. Eventually the rechargable batteries on the wireless microphone will stop recharging. DO NOT REPLACE WITH ANYTHING BUT RECHARGEABLE. If you think that may be the issue, then please contact the library for replacement RECHARGEABLE batteries. Using anything else will corrode the equipment and they will no longer work. The docking station has two chargers. Make sure you are charging it in the one which is plugged into the wall (with light).

Troubleshooting the equipment:
  • If your microphone is not working, make sure that you have recently recharged the batteries by putting it on the docking station which is located in the gray box that is mounted on the wall. The microphones are wirelessly getting their information from this gray box.
  • The gray box that is mounted on the wall includes the Hamilton Electronic Wireless PA-85 Amplifier System. If the power switch is blinking, then there was a recent power outage and you should turn the power off and then back on again to reset.
  • If the volume is not working, make sure to check the volume. The only switches on the amplifier system that you should touch are the two volume controls.
